Our church premises have been undergoing a major upgrade over the summer.

The old asbestos roof has been removed and safely disposed of. A new insulated roof is now in place and the exterior walls and interior steelwork have all been painted. We plan to return to worship and other activities from 1st September. However, there is much still to be done over the remainder of this year.

Meanwhile, we have been meeting for Sunday Worship in Wesley College each week, and we have now finished our annual Summer Club for children aged 6-13 in Wesley College’s Library block.

We are thankful to  the Methodist Church in Ireland and to Benefact Trust for their generous financial support towards the roof, electric panel and fire alarm and internal structural improvements. Funding from Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council Community Climate Action Programme has been also been received for several important projects. This includes new LED lighting in the main hall, an enclosed children’s eco-garden, solar panels and cavity wall insulation, and covered bike racks which will all help to reduce our environmental impact.

The end result will be a building that is much better equipped to sustainably serve the needs of the church and community for decades to come.

We are grateful to all those who have contributed time, expertise, money and prayers to this project.  We are also indebted to Wesley College who have been so helpful in accommodating us over the summer, and to the various groups who use our premises for their patience. Much has been done, there is more to do, but we have made a great start.

This Sunday, the Sixth Sunday in Lent, is Palm Sunday. We have two services, one at 10:00am and the other at 11:30am.

Stephen will be leading the services, preaching from Mark 11 and events of Holy Week.
